Here's why people don't like Pega
This is third party content sourced from the public web. You can verify this content if you wish. See our disclaimer and citations section below.
The software is not very user-friendly and it's also a very complex to setup.[1]
The filtering capabilities on custom dashboards is very limited, the custom search results can be improved.[2]
The platform is only viable for top 500 companies and is hard to learn and upskill beyond the basics due to a lack of content on the internet.[3]
There is not an extensive developer community to find any specific answers and tutorials.[4]
The software can be expensive, particularly for small and mid-sized businesses. The licensing fees, implementation costs, and ongoing maintenance costs can add up quickly, making it difficult for some organizations to justify the investment.[5]
Certain processes for a customer couldn't be done in the software and another software had to be used. It would be improved if all processes could be done through the software. Programmer within the Information Technology and Services industry with 1,001-5,000 employees[6]
To solve very specific needs of your application you need to adapt to the limits of this tool since you do not write code in it. Likewise, its continuous integration has issues.[7]
As the software releases new updated versions, the old applications built on lower versions need to be upgraded then some issues are introduced as some rules are deprecated. The main problem with the software is learning and tool cost. It's very difficult to contact support team. For small companies it is very difficult to purchase. Education Management industry with 10,001+ employees[8]
Developing in the software isn't the worst, but unless you're running in their cloud env it's a massive PITA to manage. Documentation is terrible for anything more than the most basic things. Former developer[9]
They make some of the easiest tasks harder than it has to be. I don't understand how they can claim to be low code and expect "citizen" devs to pick it up with no issues. The platform could not pass properties back and forth between the Robotics modules.[10]
Missing any details from deployments meant that users were confused about changes or faced errors/bugs that were unexpected - the software could have tried harder to ensure that the end users knew how to use the app and how the updates would affect them in their roles. Bugs were often timely to fix and had a massive impact to the customer journey which in return took time to win back the customers trust (if at all).[11]
The instructions NEVER match up with what is shown in the application. I spend half an hour looking everywhere for the buttons that they claim exist, but they are nowhere to be found. It's packed full of unintelligible jargon because they felt this need to over complicate everything. The naming conventions used are awful. The UI design is just so horrible, especially for a company that is trying to sell itself on being UI experts.[12]
The learning curve is extremely steep and the platform requires extensive training that most companies aren't willing to invest in. Even after months of training, basic tasks still feel unnecessarily complex compared to modern alternatives.[13]
Integration nightmares with third-party systems. What should be simple API connections become multi-month projects requiring specialized consultants. The vendor lock-in is real and expensive to escape from.[14]

What is Pega used for?
What exactly is Tallyfy and how is it different?
Tallyfy is a modern workflow management system that makes it incredibly easy to track and automate any business process. Unlike complex legacy systems, Tallyfy focuses on real-world usability and quick adoption. It eliminates workflow chaos by automatically tracking every step, helping teams save hours daily while ensuring consistent quality outcomes. The platform is designed for actual business users, not IT specialists, making it dramatically more effective than traditional BPM tools.
As John Maynard Keynes said - "It is better to be roughly right than precisely wrong."
Why are legacy BPM systems like Pega becoming obsolete?
Traditional BPM systems like Pega may be falling behind because they're built on outdated assumptions about how work gets done. They often rely heavily on rigid flowcharts and complex technical implementations that don't necessarily reflect real-world workflows. Modern teams need flexible, intuitive tools that can adapt quickly to change. While Pega may require months of implementation and extensive IT support, Tallyfy can be deployed in minutes using simple process launching and used effectively by anyone in your organization through intuitive task views.
As Theodore Roosevelt said - "In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing."

How does Tallyfy implement AI compared to Pega?
What are the main problems with Pega?
Pega's main challenges may include extremely high implementation costs, long deployment times (often 6+ months), heavy reliance on IT teams, complex user interfaces, and difficult integration with modern tools. Users often report feeling overwhelmed by its complexity and frustrated by the need for extensive training. These issues can potentially lead to poor adoption rates and failed implementations. Unlike Pega's complexity, Tallyfy offers simple member management and unlimited guest access that anyone can understand.
As Stephen Hawking said - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."
